Energy is one of those commodities we all need, as it is a fundamental part of our lives and life style. However, we are all being asked to pay much more for it as well. In this case, we need to look at ways to better deal with the problem, to ensure we are keeping abreast of the best methods to ensure our energy consumption is affordable and practical.

Since in Australia, at any rate, and in many other parts of the world, energy costs have risen dramatically, most of us have had good reason to look at different ways to obtain suitable energy savings in our homes. Hence, this has lead to a substantil increase in traditional energy saving methods, like using high quqlity roof insulation; double glazing, reverse cycle energy and so on. However, there are still other options available to you to substantially save on your energy bill. That is the creation of your own power at home.

It’s a lot more in your reach than you may realize.

Using MagniWork as an Energy Saver

The principle that the Magniwork System is based on is Perpetual Motion.

With the world in such bad shape due to the energy crisis and the demand for power exceeding the limits of available supply. It is past the time that we should be conserving the use of power in our homes and start adopting, more cost-effective and pollution-free alternative energy sources. Alternative energy sources such as solar power or wind power can help maintain a more clean environment, save power and cut down on our electricity bills. This article will look at the ways wind energy can be used to power the average home.

To achieve the best results from wind power at home, it is recommended that your home be on a plot of land around and acre large as to give the wind some area to gain speed. Another thing that helps is if the wind speed is more constant as to generate more electricity. Experts say that the ideal wind speed for generating good electrical charge is 11mph for the average home.

The kinetic energy generated by the wind is converted to electricity that can be used in your home without any modifications. Generating electricity from wind is an age old technique and can help you save a lot of money down the road. Depending on the amount of wind you receive you may save anywhere from 5% – 90% off your electricity bill.

The next question that may arise for someone is, how do I install this wind power generation system? Well you will need to install wind turbines atop your home or a close building. You do not need to change anything in your home to install wind turbines, and with existing wiring you can install these turbines and utilize the winds awesome power.

A wind power system uses a turbine that is mounted on a tower and is driven by the wind energy. The height of the tower depends on the average wind speed that is available in your area. If your house is in a lower wind speed zone, you may need to try a higher tower. If your house is located in a more windy region than you may use a shorter tower. You can run various appliances in your home with electrical energy generated by the wind power system.

The generated electricity can be stored for later use or even sold back to some power companies to make a profit, however this tends to be for areas that have a lot of wind and can keep lots of energy stored up. If you combine this with solar power systems you might could break totally free of the power company, never having to pay another bill and selling the excess of the stored power back to them in return.

During off seasons though, you may not be able to generate a lot of wing power because of the absence of constant winds. However, it is estimated that most homes could use wind generated energy for at least 9 months out of the year. If you were to incorporate a solar power system you could easily extend to the full 12 months of the year. Wind Energy is a free renewable resource that is readily available as long as the wind blows and could be used to ease the burdens on the natural resources economy, help to maintain a safe and healthy environment and also save the consumer some money as well.

There are several guides that are out that can show you how to setup and install wind generation and solar power generation systems in your home to help you conserve money and electricity, and also help you do your part in the fight to break free from our dependency on natural resources.

Using Solar energy you can create electricity to power RVs, residential homes and commercial properties. There are a variety of solar power systems available. Quite often the choice of which to go for is obvious but in other situations you may have to weigh up the pros and cons. This article will detail some of the options and explain the considerations.

If we consider an RV, for example, the ideal solar power system would be a portable system. These systems are economical, as they have a smaller number of solar panels and batteries than a larger stand-alone system. They may be moved around so that they can make the most of the sunny conditions depending on your location.

The basic set up of a stand alone system for generating electricity is one or more solar panels. These are generally connected to one or more batteries that will store DC current. As most appliances in the home and business use AC current an inverter is needed to convert from DC to AC.

For those that like an each way bet or are new to solar power electricity there is the grid tie solar power system. This means that the home or business building is still connected to the grid but has a solar panel installed too. The grid-tie system will have an inverter that changes the DC current into the purest sine-wave AC electricity so that it will mesh with the utility grid. Thus there is a seamless connection between the solar and grid electricity.

When there is no sun or the solar panels do not have the capacity to supply the building then the grid supplied electricity can fill the gap. Thus there is usually no need for batteries which makes this system cleaner and easier to operate. It also means that electricity can be transported to the power station and used elsewhere.

Eventually, as people become more experienced with solar power they will move towards a completely stand alone system. That is an off the grid system. They will become completely self sufficient for energy needs. Of course this requires more management by the individual and more responsibility but it is cheaper than using grid power and more environmentally friendly.

The complete off grid system will contain more inverters, probably two, so that there will be enough current to run large appliances like air conditioners and electric heaters. It also gives the solar power system more flexibility in that one can be operated while the other is being maintained.

Of course another reason for having an off the grid system is when there is no grid to connect to. Typically, this will be in remote areas and the solar power system is the only source of energy supply. It is not so much a nice thing to have or an economical measure but a necessity.

Hybrid systems are also useful in remote areas or if you are planning to go self sufficient in creating energy. A hybrid system uses two methods of energy generation to double the total amount of created. This may include a solar/wind power option if you want to go totally green. Otherwise you may go for a solar/generator system. The generator would be a portable generator powered by diesel, propane or gasoline. Provided you have a reliable supply of these fossil fuels then this hybrid system is probably more reliable than the solar/wind option.

Again, it depends on how much time or money you have but to have as many contingencies to your solar power system is the best way to go as you can’t always rely on the sun. So why not have a solar/wind/generator system. This would be more complex to operate but would cover your energy needs no matter what type of weather you experienced.

As energy prices continue to escalate many people are starting to ask the question How Does Solar Power Work? Although it may sound like a winning proposition, you need to be thinking about the cost of the equipment and getting it installed when considering going for solar. Today there are many state and federal grants being made available which can help to offset these costs for you. But you shouldn’t just be focusing on the costs; it is a good idea to look at the benefits of solar power for your home.

Whether solar power is being installed in a commercial or residential property the concept is basically the same, there is just a difference in relation to installation. For a house the system can be small and simple, but for a factory or warehouse the system required will be more complex and so will the installation process because greater capacity is needed.

Solar panels contain semiconductors which generate electricity from the sun’s rays that come in contact with them. Solar panels today are constructed to heat water and air coming into a property through a ventilation system. Any electricity that is generated by the solar panels will be routed to a controller or regulator and this then adjusts its voltage or amperage to meet the systems needs and will then be routed to an electrical or storage system.

There are three main components in solar power systems. The first of these is the photovoltaic panels also referred to as the solar panels or PV panels. Next is the current controller or regulator that controls the amperage/voltage of the electricity which the solar panels have generated. Finally there will be a storage system and this consists of batteries which store the energy which has been created by the system and is not required during the daytime.

The cost of solar panels can vary quite a bit and is dependent on where you live and they kind of installation you have. If for example the property is an industrial one in a remote location then usually box shaped panels will be used. For commercial usage solar panels can either be installed on the building’s roof as well as on the ground so that even more solar power can be generated.

Along with solar panels being mounted on roof tops as well as on the ground and on poles. The ground and pole mounts are much more flexible especially if part of the building tends to be in shade during the day. There are some solar panels which are fitted with devices that allow them to track the sun during the day so that they get full exposure to the sun’s rays. But the largest drawback to a solar installation is of course when sunset comes. But this is rectified by having a storage system, array of batteries installed or through having a supplemental power supply obtained from the utility company’s own power grid.

Now it is possible to get solar cells built into roofs, awnings and windows if you want a dual function solar power system that is hidden. For a residential property one can get roofing materials which have solar cells included and which function in the same way was asphalt shingle does once installed. But you have the added benefit of the solar cells that means you can design a house which looks like a home rather than like a space ship.

There are a couple of advantages to both home solar energy options, but there are some things that you need to consider before you make your final decision.

What Can You Afford?

The first consideration is the amount of money you are willing to invest in this project. While you can save a lot of money buying the instructions and installing your own system, there is still considerable cost to building a solar power system that is large enough to supply all of your electrical needs.

You will also need to consider the size of the electrical storage you will need if you are going to power your house entirely with solar energy. When a solar electric system is generating power it can be stored in batteries to be used later. If your house does not get a lot of direct sunlight, or you have short days, you will need enough battery storage to get through the times when you do not have enough sunlight.

How Much Solar Energy Do You Get?

Direct sunlight is a big factor in determining the size of your system. Even with limited sunlight you will still be able to generate enough electricity if you have enough photovoltaic panels with your home solar energy system. This goes back to how much you are willing to spend, and how many panels you want on your roof.

If you can not afford to build a home solar energy system that will power your house completely, there are still advantages to having a smaller system that will at least supply a portion of your needs.

Take Advantage of Tiered Billing

The first is the savings that you will see by not having to purchase all of your electricity form the utility company. Not only will you see a direct savings from lower electric use, you may also pay less for the electricity you do use.

Some utility companies use a “tiered” billing structure. That means that the more electricity you use, the more you will pay per kilowatt-hour (kWh). When you install your home solar electric system you will use less of the utility company’s power, so they will charge you less for what you do use. This could result in a very large savings over time.

Start Small – Add Later

The second advantage of starting with a small system is that you can add to it later when you can afford the investment. Once the system is installed you can always go back later and add more solar panels and more storage batteries. This will increase the amount of electricity your system will produce, and it will extend the time you can use the system when the sun is not shining.

A home solar energy system is not only great for the environment, it is also a great way to save money on your utility bills. It does require an investment up front, but you will see returns on that investment for years to come.

Whether you are considering a small system to reduce what you are buying from the utility company, or you are installing a system large enough to supply all of your needs, a home solar energy system will help save you money by reducing your payments to the electric company.

There are a lot of energy source, geothermal energy, fossil fuels, biomass, and many others. However the most abundant form of energy is from the Sun. Since the beginning of times, man gets his energy from the Sun. Without this powerful energy source, plants will wither and there will be no food left for man and animals to eat. Not only the Sun provides the heat and light, it also can be converted into several forms of energy which is really very useful. The very popular way of using the sun as form of energy is the home solar power system.

With the use of solar power system in your home, there are a number of benefits that we can get from it. First, other forms of energy contributes pollution to the environment, however this is not the case when we use solar power system. With the unlimited supply of energy from the sun, there is no way for it to contribution to the environment. The fact is, the sun is the only source of energy that does not produce anything that may be harmful to the environment.

Second advantage to using solar power system for your home is that it means lesser expenditures among other expenses that we need to pay on a monthly or annual basis. Since solar energy is free, you will be able to save-up on your electric monthly bill. The only thing that would cost you is the installation of solar panels and its maintenance which is very cost-effective compared to paying a monthly electric bill.

Third, if you are wondering if solar energy system works during night time, the answer is yes. With the innovation of modern technology, it is now possible to store solar energy with the use of solar cells and panels. What is more, you do not have to worry about power interruption, as this works in a continuous manner.

Now that the basics and benefits are clear, it is now time to discuss the kind of equipments that we might want to incorporate in our homes that is compatible with solar power system.

First, for cooking purposes, we need cookers that are powered by solar power systems. Cookers use reflectors to concentrate sunlight to the interior of the cooker so that heat will be generated. With this, you can now bake, fry, boil, and everything that concerns about cooking without the use of fire or electricity.

Home solar power systems also use light bulbs which contain solar cells and panels that stock up energy from the sun during daylight to be able to supply light during night time.

When it comes to heaters, the system also has solar heaters to heat water and spaces using the sun’s energy.

With all the advantages that solar energy has to offer, there is no reason for us not to use solar energy system especially these days that the prices in all basic commodities is continuously rising. So save money and help save the environment, use home solar power system!

There are a number of ways in which the warmth of the sun can be transformed into fuel which can be used to meet our household power requirements. The two most popular systems used today are the PV (Photovoltaic) one and the CSP (Concentrating Solar Power) one. The first system takes the light from the sun and creates electricity from it whilst the CSP system takes the suns heat and produces fuel for a power plant.

The photovoltaic panels are the most well known of the solar power systems available and consist of solar panels which inside contain a special semiconductor material that generates electricity when it comes into contact with sunlight, and so creates solar power. When solar power is created in this way it is clean and has not impact on the environment and also provides a renewable source of energy that in the long term will save you money.

The power created by a PV solar powered system will be routed into the house through a converter which alters the direct current electricity into the standard alternating current before it can be used. This is actually pretty much the same as what a utility company does when supplying the current through the circuit breaker panel in a home. After passing through the inverter the current can be stored in a backup system (batteries) for use at night or be sent directly through to power lights and other electrical appliances in the home.

If a PV solar powered system is installed correctly it will be used to power homes that may be far from more traditional types of power grids. Such a solar power system can be more cost effective than being connected to an existing power line, especially when you live some distance from power lines or a power plant. Also power generated from the sun cannot only be cheaper but will make it easier as you won’t have to pay such outrageous bills for the power you use.

A concentrating solar power (CSP) system utilizes solar thermal technology and uses a complex array of mirrors and panels in order to collect heat from the sun and sunlight. The heat collected is then transferred to a generator and will either be done directly or through using fluids contained within the panels of this solar system. Heat which is generated in many power plants today by burning coal or fossil fuels could in fact possibly be reduced by using a CSP system instead.

Not just individuals but businesses as well could save quite a considerable sum each year through using solar power systems. Each month they could find their energy bills being dramatically reduced if they choose to install a solar powered system to work in conjunction with their existing electrical supply. It can even become nonexistent when you choose to use solar power as the primary source of energy.

Although you may balk because it costs a lot to have it installed, you create and install a small system for just over $200 if you do it yourself. However it is one of the more major home improvement projects which can start paying for itself immediately after it has been done. Although building an extra bathroom my increase your home’s value, you won’t be able to recoup these costs if you are not able to sell your home at a profit.

Due to the unstable and questionable supplies of fuel, along with a growing sense of insecurity for homeowners, there’s an intense desire among people to learn more about developing wind power systems for homes. With all the increases in the price of fuel, along with people wanting to use more green resources, there’s been increased interest in our society about the use of wind energy.

According to quite a few experts, it’s being said that by utilizing turbines, the power that can be generated from wind is now being touted as an incredibly efficient alternate source of electricity. Our fossil fuel sources are diminishing on a daily basis, and because of our reliance on that fading source we need to be looking ahead for better ways of using the power of wind. This resource has already been shown to provide a myriad of benefits. For one thing, we already know the energy that’s generated from moving air is cleaner, produces very few harmful emissions, and is obviously renewable.

As our technology continues to advance toward mass production of electricity as a much cheaper price, the idea of wind generating electricity takes a higher place in choices of what can produce energy. There’s even the fact that nuclear plants are now expected to supply more energy than they have been. We are looking a a much brighter future for the world as we all work to remove our dependency on fossil fuels and move toward more renewable resources.

Luckily these types of generator systems are a lot closer to being a reality than most people are aware of. There are currently millions of home owners on this planet that are already using wind turbines as their primary source of power in their homes. The old fashion windmills are still being used to pump just water in some of the more rural areas.

However, any homeowner is capable of making use of strong wind currents to create or produce electricity that’s usable. You will find that building your own power plant for your home is a lot easier and simpler than you think it is. You probably already have all the basic tools you would need right in your own home. There is no reason to purchase special kinds of equipment or tools. You’ll find even the mechanical skills that are called are basic ones.

These kinds of systems, on a massive scale, are a few more years away from being considered commonplace. However, there are many homeowners who are taking the initiative to build turbines for themselves. It may surprise you to hear the cost of building a simple, but efficient, wind power system runs about a hundred dollars. With all this coming into place, you can expect this alternative type of energy production to be very important in the near future.

If you’re considering some type of alternative energy system in order to lower your electric bills, or even go off grid and provide all of your power, there are two basic choices. The first is a wind power based system; wind generators, windmills, or wind turbines. The second is a solar power based system; solar panels or cells. Each of these has their own particular merits, but neither one is perfect. The problem with both of these systems is that in the event that there is no sun or wind, you won’t be generating any power. So what should you do? The answer is to combine the two into a hybrid system.

What is a hybrid system? It’s a combination of 2 or more alternative energy sources; solar power and wind power for instance. By combining two or more separate systems, you’ll help to even out their characteristic peaks and valleys in power production. Solar panels only produce energy when they are exposed to sunlight. This renders them useless at night or on a cloudy day. If you set up a hybrid system and combine a wind generator with your solar panels, there is a much better chance that you’ll produce usable energy even when your solar generator won’t. When it comes to extending your power production, it’s easy to see the benefits of a hybrid system.

If you want to go completely off the grid, and need a constant supply of power, you’ll need to add some type of engine driven electrical generator to your hybrid system. This generator would be used to charge your storage batteries in the event that there was no wind or sun to generate power for a considerable period of time. The downside to this is that the generator would most likely be driven by an engine that requires a supply of costly fuels; diesel, gasoline, or propane. Depending on the size of your storage system – size and number of batteries, the amount that the generator would have to run could be greatly minimized.

So before you start building, it’s a good idea to identify exactly what your power requirements are, whether you’ll be grid-tied, and how much reserve power you’ll need. Knowing this will help you decide what type of hybrid system is right for your situation.

Are you thinking of making home solar electricity with battery backup system? This is a free renewable energy system that I have managed to build at home. I highly recommend it because there are so many benefits of using solar power. I will discuss more about the advantages of solar electricity in this article and how you too can run your home on solar power.

Advantages of Home Solar Electricity

#1: Clean and Renewable Energy Source

Converting solar power to electricity does not result in the emission of harmful gases like nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide, mercury and sulphur dioxide into the air, unlike burning fossil fuels or other traditional ways of generating electricity. Solar energy is clean and using it is a good way to conserve the environment.

Solar electricity is also renewable. It is created as and when it is needed, and does not deplete Earth’s resources in any way. Because of the Earth’s rapidly decreasing supply of natural resources like fossil fuels, it is important that more people start using renewable energy systems now.

#2: Tremendous Cost Savings

Even though the solar energy system will cost money to build initially, the costs can be recovered very quickly depending on how much your homemade power system is able to generate. Once you have the solar electricity system set up, you too can start enjoying free energy from the sun.

Another scenario that could occur if you harness solar power is called net metering. This happens when your homemade solar system is able to generate more electricity than the total power consumption in your home. When this happens, you can resell the excess power back to your grid company for a profit.
